Rubber Stable Matting
Across the UK there are many different construction methods for Stables, Boxes and Shelters.
Our rubber flooring has been laid on earth, crushed lime and chalk, crushed concrete, compressed sand, concrete, brick and cobble bases - in fact - almost every possible surface you can find!
Our Solid Rubber Mat system uses high quality synthetic rubber in it's composition. All solid rubber mats include a percentage of fillers' - either simple Carbon Black or inert ground rubber particle - the amount of this recycled material determines the quality of the end product. To meet our environmental policy we include a percentage of this material, ensuring that our mats are produced to give optimum performance and longevity. Claims of 100% new rubber are not possible as all mats include fillers, even if only Carbon Black - and this mostly comes from recycled rubber! Our first grade solid rubber mats carry a 10 year replacement guarantee (stc). With over 30 years in the Rubber industry - we know Rubber!
Crumb mat systems are also available, these mats in general have mortise and tenon ' plug-in' joints, are fully porous and have underside multi-direction drainage channels. To ensure free-flow of waste water, these mats need to be laid onto good floors with adequate drainage - either a good fall, or combined fall and under floor drains. While crumb systems are more comfortable, with thickness of 30mm and 40mm as standard, they do need to be maintained regularly to ensure grease build-up on the surface does not retain moisture (and bacteria) in the mat.
We also supply an EVA/Rubber blended foam mat (new standard is Dark Green) particularly useful in foaling boxes. This mat is light-weight, can be supplied straight edged or dovetailed in 22mm thickness.
